Flight information

Flight information for private travelers

The new capital airport Pyongyang Sunan (FNJ), completed in 2015, is home to the state-owned North Korean airline Air Koryo, which serves a large part of international scheduled flights to and from North Korea. On this page you will find an overview of all flight connections from Air Koryo, which are available on the respective days for our private travelers.

Arriving with Air Koryo

North Korean airline Air Koryo uses Terminal 2 of the Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK). We strongly recommend that you arrive for check-in at Terminal 2 at least two hours before your flight to Pyongyang as the check-in procedure may take some time. For all our group trips, entry to North Korea by air is compulsory. If you have registered with us as a private traveler, you also have the option of arriving in North Korea by train. As a private traveler, please allow sufficient time if you are planning to only stop over at Beijing airport before continuing to North Korea. Remember you will have to collect your baggage and check it in again for the Pyongyang flight. Feeder flights might be delayed and thus we strongly recommend an overnight stay in Beijing as a buffer. Otherwise, make sure to arrive early enough at the Air Koryo check-in counter. We recommend a minimum of 4 to 6 hours’ buffer time between flights.
